Fireball over Westfield, WI
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
We ran across the field by our house, following it only for a couple of minutes, and as it got further away, we watched it slowly disappear into the night sky. As we were running across the field, we tried to get it on film on a cellphone camera (iPhone), but the orange light did not appear. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Hello, Peter, Yes, it would have been Wednesday morning, June 10th. And to be completely honest it may not have been a fireball. I accidentally clicked that when it just looked like a glowing orange light. ((END ADDENDUM))
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #119484). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
