We were sitting on the the back porch talking, I looked up, pointed it out to the family, we watched it go across the sky rather quickly, no contrail, bright orange, no blinking lights, not a plane, went over in arch, could see it through the clouds, and it made no noise. very weird. On this night, I heard (from inside my house) a military helicopter flying around nearby several times. When I heard it approach again for the third time, I went outside to see what was going on. I saw the military helicopter flying extremely slow, east of me and traveling south. As I was watching it, I then noticed a solid orange light preceding the helicopter. It appeared to be about 100 yards in front of the helicopter. I watched it for around 15 minutes total as it traveled south and then circled back north.
