The report, as filed
trio of lights (red, green, white) close formation in the southwestern sky above ocean half mi. from shore. They dipped down & appeared to skim the surface of water rapidly in a zig-zag pattern. Then they took a diagonal path towards the shore & came within 10 yds. of the beach-very fast-stopped briefly-returned to where they first came down, zig-zagging rapidly & flew back up to where I first saw them in the sky, where they appeared to hover, then disappeared.
