Rectangle over Brush Prairie, WA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I witnessed this object looking west at 11:00 p.m. it hovered there as I watched for about 10 minutes. As I watched the object it had red, blue, green, yellow but mostly white lights flashing with no pattern but consistently flashing in the night sky. I would estimate the object to be approximately ½ mile away. It hovered a couple hundred feet above the trees. We live in a highly wooded area, lots of trees. I watch it and went inside my home after about 10 minutes. It was still hovering when I went inside my home. The size of the object I cannot be sure of but it was rectangular shaped and was big enough to see all the different colors flashing. I have seen this object before in the night sky a few other times always in the west sky in the last 2 years that I have lived in Brush Prairie, Washington, but never have reported it until now. This object was closer than it has ever been to our home. It was not an airplane, helicopter, satellite or meteor. I like to go out in the evening and look at the constellations and because we are 25 minutes away from Vancouver, Wa. It is very dark and you can really see the stars. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

Brush Prairie, WA

My son and I were watching planes overhead and something caught my eye. There were no clouds this day but there were little white orbs flying really far away. They were going different speeds and directions. I decided to try and take video but the sun was so bright I doubted it would even be seen on camera. When you zoom way in you can see that this was no bug migration, not birds, or any kind of balloon. Ive asked pilots and friends and no one has any ideas. You can hear my son and I trying to figure it out while we are watching. I’m at a complete loss, the video speaks for itself. My curiosity has completely gotten the best of me and I would love for someone to explain what we saw! Thank you!!

Brush Prairie, WA

Appeared to be just another satellite sighting, but it was followed by another close by. Then a string of them could be seen, apparently all on identical trajectories. No shape other than a single point of white light - no collision lights. We saw numerous other aircraft each with their own collision lights at much lower altitudes. Easy to discern them from these unknown objects. It was one after the other all traveling from the SW heading over Portland then toward the NE where they entered a portion of the sky that was obscured by cloud cover and disappeared from view. They were spread quite a bit apart from each other but have no way of determining how close they were to each other in any measurable way. Wife saw them too. Never seen so many objects in the sky flying the same path.

Brush Prairie, WA

Was driving alone to Brush Prairie, WA, on Christmas Eve. There were 8 red lights stationary in the night sky in a very weird diagonal formation. One by one they disappeared. It was very cloudy and a full moon, the moon and the stars were both not visible that night.
