Unknown over Newton, NJ
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
Pulsating red blue and green lights changing to bright white and covering huge distances in the sky in the blink of an eye leaving a light streak as it snapped across the sky. It moved in huge circular patterns and at one point shot verticly down in the sky about 4 inches faster than i could process its movement. The onject also discharged a greenish light ray which was seen by all witnesses. It remained for about 15 minutes and would switch between being solitary and fast unnaturally quick movements
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #113896). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

Observed a strange bright light hovering and then slowly moving in a diagonal pattern across the sky from north to northwest. The object was emitting a strange glow, it then became piercingly bright (prior to video recording)then dimmed again and maintained a steady hovering altitude. The object then faded away into the night sky. The object made no sound and was observed on a clear night for a length of about 7 minutes or so.

A disk with lights that seemed to flash and shimmer sporadically flew in a circle for about a minute and then set off away from our vantage point. As it flew away, we spotted dimmer red lights, almost like a flare but a softer color, that seemed to fall from the disk and disappear as they fell.
