Circle over Fairview (rural), WV
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
We observed a greenish blue circular object hover for a brief second high in the sky to the north of our location and then suddenly drop toward earth at a very high rate of speed. There was no "tail" like a meteor usually has and the color was not like that of a meteor. It was a very laser like path from a 1 o'clock position in the sky to a 7 o'clock position on the ground (behind the ridge top). After arriving at work we learned that three other people had witnessed the same event at the same time noted. They all said the color and behavior was consistent to what we had seen. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #113725). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
