Circle over Louisville, TN
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
I saw a bright intense round light that was above the tree line about 100 ft in the air. It appeared for 3-5 seconds. It dropped behind the trees with no sound. It was brighter than any light but had no halo. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) It was 10:00 pm. It look like the ball went straight down behind the 50 ft tall trees but as my 15 year old son pointed out , it probably headed north away from me which looked like it headed down because of it's relationship to the trees. ((END ADDENDUM))
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #113638). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
