North polar orbit. Just past zenith grew in brightness to about 10 times station brightness, moving as a typical satellite, until much more bright than any satellite could possibly get from reflected sunlight, unless extremely large, i.e. 1/2 mile in size @ 300 miles agl. http://heavens-above.com/IridiumFlares.aspx?lat=47.5223&lng=-120.4698&loc=Cashmere&alt=241&tz=PST Sighting of Iridium #70 at 20:45 hrs.. THE SIGHTING. It was a clear, summer’s evening in 1947 (or 1948 – I can’t be sure of the exact year). The sun had just set over th
