The report, as filed
What looked like a black bowling ball with no marking or lights on it moved quietly, slowly and steadily about high tree top level. It crossed our back yard as it traveled east across the oak tree tops. Our last sighting a month later through those trees was an orange fireball coming from the east around 8pm. Too large to be a plane light. It traveled quietly northward for 30 seconds until it turned into that black ball which then receded eastward again over the trees. Amazing. No photos though. Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD

Large black ball, no sound or markings, in sky moving NE, and two hours later saw orange fireball in same area that turned into black ball and moved NE above trees.
