As reported

Unknown over Walton, KY

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

At first I thought it was a plane, but it was moving too fast for a plane. I confirmed this 5 minutes later when I actually saw a plane, with contrails. This particular object had no contrails, like most of the planes I see at that altitude. Anyway, it caught a glint of the sun and I could tell it wasn't a bird. It continued to move from SE to NW when it made an "S" move and then a figure 8. I watched it until I couldn't see it anymore. It LOOKED like a plane, but it was faster than a plane and did not move like a plane.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #113072). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
