Le témoin a observé une très forte lumière, de couleur verte, suivie d'une traînée orange, qui a traversé le ciel en 3 à 4 secondes le 22 février 2014 à 20h10. Ce phénomène, appelé bolide, a très probablement été provoqué par la chute dans l'atmosphère d'un météoroïde. La presse a relaté l'événement : ils ont vu la météorite dans le cielmais aucun autre témoin n'a déclaré l'observation au GEIPAN. Rien n'est signalé sur le site BOAM (caméras), mais la France était sous une couverture nuageuse sauf sud-Est. Le GEIPAN classe ce cas "B" : observation de rentrée atmosphérique de météoroïde (chute de météorite) [GEIPAN classification B — Bolide]
