I was watching television with my husband, and something caught my eye out of the large window to my left. This happens from time and time, and is typically the headlights from cars reflected off our barn, a couple hundred feet from our house. When I turned to look, I saw what looked to be a shooting star, though much larger and much closer than I had ever seen. It was also much lower down to the ground. It did have a long tail, and streaked through the air, not particularly fast, as has always been the case with other shooting stars I’ve observed in the past. It almost looked like it could’ve been a part of a firework, but no fireworks were observed or recorded in our town, or surrounding towns on this night, and there was no audible noise from fireworks, either. I also did not note it dissipating in brightness, or falling in a pattern that you would expect a firework to do. It threw me so, that I did not even get a chance to point it out to my husband, until it had disappeared from view. It flew out of my sight, obscured by our barn, but a bit farther in the background where there is a few miles of wetlands and forest brush. My check or local social networking groups yielded no other reports (where everything and anything is typically reported). I kept an eye out for the remainder of the evening, but did not see anything else. I also did not leave my house to investigate any further. Probably unrelated, but worth noting was that the next morning there were dozens of vultures all over town, which seemed surprising to everyone, and has never happened before in the time that we’ve lived here.

Driving on interstate 84 east bound in a car, we saw what appeared to be a large airplane approximately the size of a 747 heading in what would be a westbound direction, approximately 5,000 -8,000 feet and it appeared to be suspended and not moving. The plane was not moving and what appeared to be a helicopter hovering near it.

10/20/2017 - 8:35 a.m. - Driving on Rt. 32 Southbound toward New Paltz from Rosendale, first observed appox. 1/2 mile North of Horsenden Road while passing Clearwater Park on left. Object appeared to be white-ish silver moving SSW at high speed (I was driving 55 mph), flying low enough to observe no wings of any kind. Appeared to be teardrop shaped with point facing direction of travel, no lights but did observe "glint" of light from Sun reflecting off surface of object indicating it was a solid, reflective mass. That part of Rt. 32 has trees on both sides, object clearly visible while following road then became obscured by trees. turned onto Horesenden Road, observed once through trees when turned onto road then lost. Did not see again once tree line ended and had more visible area to observe.

Stepping outside of my home tonight I approached the backyard and peering at the sky saw seven to nine lights moving across the sky in formation. When I sighted the objects they were high in the southern sky, they moved northward changing formations changing from a line formation to a V with objects weaving in and out of each other and disorganized at times. The light emitted by the objects was a gently pulsating white light. As they continued northward I noticed a commercial jet in the distance, appearing to be ahead of the formation. It was then that the objects disappeared from sight completely. Around one minute later I saw another object of similar size and appearance cross the sky in the same direction, also disappearing. They were silent.

It a clear dark sky, and we spotted two triangular crafts, with three bright lights, in the center a white light with a red light on one side and a blue light on the other. Then six more crafts appeared in the northeast sky each flying a distance from each other they were moving slowly and steady towards the south. They moved without making any sounds. Also, in the sky we sighted a orb like image, whitish in color. Date was flawed. We have amended it to reflect a sighting on January 16, 2017. PD

On evening walk as sunset occurred and saw bright pulsating orange/red light above treeline to my right. I ran to a clearing and watched the light apparently climb and then arc towards the SE and then slow down, almost to a standstill - with absolutely no noise. A commercial jet came into the field of view moving from North to South, with normal red and white navigation lights visible and with normal jet noise, and was at a lower altitude than pulsating light. The light then continued off into the southern/southeastern sky until it was no longer visible. So, no incredible speeds, but definitely and unusual brightness and pulsation to the light, and absolutely no sound. My first thoughts were a drone of some kind, but it seemed too high and moved too far for a recreational drone. Also, what I saw definitely sounds similar to what others in the area are describing recently on this board. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD
