Le vendredi 2 aout 2013 vers minuit une famille en voiture est intriguée par le déplacement silencieux et rapide d'une boule orange vif dans le ciel dégagé. L'objet disparaitra caché par le paysage. L'observation d'une boule orange se déplaçant linéairement un soir de week end fait penser à une lanterne thaïlandaise. On note à ce moment là à Mâcon un Vent de Sud 4 à 19km/h : météo. Le témoin est surpris de la vitesse du phénomène : si une lanterne vole réellement à 19km/h en ligne doite, il peut être difficile de la suivre en voiture.
