Le 12 décembre 2012 à 19h20 (UTC) un pilote et un contrôleur sont intrigués par la présence dans le ciel d'une lumière jaune-orangée de forte magnitude. Une photographie a pu être prise depuis l'avion. Le phénomène a aussi été vu par un observateur au sol à ESPIRA de l'AGLY (66) le même jour. L'enquête locale auprès de la base militaire voisine a permis de trouver que des entrainements avaient eu lieu deux soirs de suite avec des fusées éclairantes. Ce cas parfaitement caractérisé est donc classé "A". [GEIPAN classification A — Fusée éclairante]
