Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

The four photos submitted by the witness exhibit three or four tiny dark specks against a cloudy sky. We do not know what the specks are, but suspect that they might be birds in flight. PD

This is not the first UFO I've seen. I've seen them two times earlier around 1997. The first time I witnessed one was a Spectacular site. It happened over Colorado Springs viewed from just south of Cripple Creek very far away. I was with a roommate walk back to town after running out of gas. The point of light moved over C.S., just like a laser pointer on a wall would if you moved it wildly back and forth up and down. It did this for about 3 min. Source of report indicates that the date is approximate. PD
