Snoqualmie, WA

My son and I saw a star sized object moving from north to northwest at a pace similar to seeing a satellite, but the object was not as high in the sky as a satellite would be. The object approached the area of the sky that contained Orion's Belt, then stopped and became extremely bright and seemed to increase size by many times. The light was bright for several seconds and then gradually faded off and the object began to move northwest again. After about 10 seconds the craft lost most of its light and started heading north until we could no longer see it.
