Le GEIPAN a reçu de nombreux témoignages d'observations du passage d'un phénomène lumineux dans le ciel du 24 janvier 2012 vers 7h50 au-dessus de la région Lorraine. L'ensemble de ces témoignages correspond clairement à l'observation un bolide : rentrée dans l'atmosphère d'un météoroïde d'origine naturelle (petit astéroïde). Le réseau reforme-meteor identifie aussi cet évènement comme bolide d'origine naturelle. Ce cas est classé "A". [GEIPAN classification A — Météoride]
