We observed a very bright light moving west to east directly above us, more towards the eastern sky. Moving quickly. Very far away...but could barely look at it. It was so bright we couldn't really focus on it. Like a large star with a long tail. After sometime, it faded and disappeared. It hurt our eyes, yet it was very far away. As it got closer, moving west to east, I noticed it was a solid white light with no blinking lights. I watched for about a good 4 or 5 minutes and it disappeared with a speed I've never seen before, kind of like a fade to black in a nanosecond at a different angle. Then it was gone.

While sky watching Saturday, August 2nd, 2014, looking to the south my friend and I saw a bright light that was about the size and brightness of the ISS except this object was moving in a straight line from West to East. It appeared to be quite lower than any satellite but there was no sound made by this craft. There was no wind on that night so I was really surprised at how quiet it was. I have never seen a light that bright move in that direction. At one point when it was about ¾ way across the it got about 10 times brighter than it was originally and then faded out and disappeared.
