La lecture de l'unique questionnaire et les caractéristiques de l'observation décrites ont orienté l'enquête vers l'observation de lanternes thaïlandaises. Contacté par le GEIPAN, le Service Communication de la mairie de Tournan-en-Brie conforte cette conviction en précisant qu'un mariage a eu lieu sur leur commune avec un lâcher de lanternes thaîlandaises le samedi 05 juin à minuit.
