Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

I was going to a grocery store in Des Plaines Illinois. Saw a puff of smoke falling from above the sun on a downward trajectory. The several points of light appeared around the sun.

I noticed an orange light in the sky, so I stepped outside to get a better look and to see if I would hear helicopter or an airplane engine, but it was silent. As it traveled over my head I noticed another stationary orange orb through the tree top blinking. I of course didn't have my phone to capture it on video. As it traveled I lost sight of it over our roof, so I ran to my back door because I was sure I would see it still moving through the night sky, but it was unfortunately gone, so ran ack to where I initially witnessed it and the stationary one was gone and I have been baffled with what I saw. I am very familiar with commercial and military craft. What I saw was not a traditional aircraft. It was completely silent and did not have any flashing indicator lights. I will keep watching the night sky in hopes of witnessing it again.

March 6, 2020, 7:35pm, Des Plaines, IL 60016 Saw about 30 evenly spaced star-like lights traveling at same speed from southwest sky, from underneath the brightest star in the West, traveling east-to-northeast over north side of Chicago (from my backyard in suburb, Des Plaines). None of them had colored or blinking lights, like you would see from a commercial aircraft. Instead, they were steady lights, much like moving stars. They looked like the occasional satellites that I used to see in the Northwoods; except there was a long string, a convoy. I took some video. It was about 7:35pm when I saw the first of about thirty. Only two were close together. The other 28, or so, were evenly spaced apart traveling exactly same speed and in the exact same direction and appearing from the exact same place in the southwestern sky – one after another. Hard to gauge their size or altitude or speed; except they were travelling much higher than the commercial air traffic from O’Hare airport. I see a lot of airplanes in the sk! y here near O’hare, at all altitudes. Never, ever saw anything like these. They were not commercial passenger aircraft, I am certain of that.

Des Plaines, IL

I was out in my backyard when I saw a bright red-orange fireball shaped object through my tree. It was traveling east to west very high in the sky. Thought it was a plane at first but no other lights and as stated, was very high in the sky. As it traveled it turned shades of red to orange and pulsed. Eventually totally vanished from sight like a light turned off. Near O'Hare airport.

I went outside around 9:30pm to put some tools back in the garage and looked up towards the east to admire the full moon. I then noticed 2 fireballs in the sky that were yellow in color and glowing brightly. No flashing lights were observed and they were silent. They appeared to be as high as an airplane would be, and were moving towards O'Hare Airport but then changed direction. One went straight up into the sky and disappeared and the other went off to the west and disappeared. I again turned to the east to look at the moon when I saw 3 more fireballs just like the first two. I ran inside to get my son and wife and when I returned outside, two of the objects were still observable. They continued west towards my house then turned north. One disappeared and the light faded while the other continued north then turned to the southwest, where we watched it turn into a circle with no light that seemed to drop in altitude in the western sky until we could no longer see it. Definitely not airplanes or helicopters. Witness elects to remain semi-anonymous; provides little contact information. PD
