Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

On August 25, 2020, at approximately 21:10 I noticed several bright lights in close formation to each other over the horizon in the tree line to the left of the Big Dipper constellation. I recorded video with my cell phone several times over the course of an hour until the lights were gone. The lights got extremely bright, like a flashlight being shone into the eyes when looking at them, and then would dim and completely disappear, then immediately reappear. The lights changed position with each other and moved around in somewhat of a group, going southwest, then straight up, then straight down, and finally returning to their original location. There was absolutely no sound make by the lights, crickets and cars driving by can be clearly heard in the videos. The strangest part is that when taking pictures and video, no other objects in the sky could be seen through the camera, only the strange group of lights. These lights had also appeared on August 22, 2020! around the same time and lasted about the same duration of an hour, except the position was closer to the Big Dipper constellation. Upon reviewing the videos, the objects seem to be emitting light - not reflecting the sun, spinning very rapidly, and a tiny object can be seen moving around the largest object like a satellite. The shape of the largest object appears to be round with a raised section and something on the top. The smaller objects are harder to determine due to the brightness of the largest object – the strangest part was that the size of all of the objects seemed to change as well.

Flew in a straight line, just a bright light coming from the west. Light got brighter as it got nearer, but it stayed at the same elevation above the ground. Overhead, it looked triangular with a gold light shining from the bottom. Looked like it had bent up wings or something at the tip of the triangles. Bluish-gold color.

Me and my sister and her friend were outside on our trampoline. It was about 9:30 or 10:00 pm and we had a clear view of the night sky from where we were. Then we saw a bluish greyish flash of light and thought it was lightning so we ignored it. Then it happened again, and continued to happen. So we decided to look for the source but we couldn't find one. It surrounded the treeline and didn't seem to orient from somewhere. It typically happened between 6-10 seconds from each other. Every time my mother came out to check on us, it wouldn't occur until she left, then it would happen right after. Even if a car was passing by, it wouldn't happen until right after the car had left. We saw small objects moving through the sky. They appeared white, my sister even said she saw a red one. They were too small to be satellites and didn't have lights on them so they weren't planes either, it was also completely silent besides the river running through the yard. The objects also moved in a completely straight line, some parallel to others moving completely straight, therefore, we concluded they couldn't be satellites. We also saw three stars aligned in a triangle formation. We looked it up and found the "Summer Triangle" constellation, but it was too unproportional to what we had seen, so we don't know what it was.
