While watching for meteors, we witnessed approximately 10-20 white lights flying tightly northwest to northeast- they began separating and flying different directions- we saw 3 sets of them one directly after the others

About 3 mins in length I watched circulating white light in a 3-step fashion move around an object, while I drove my car. It had No airplane colors, red or green though around 11pm CST. It was a slow speed of light moving from left to right on the bottom of the object flowing slowly toward the East. I pulled into the gas station and told my friend on the phone. Thank you.

The object(s) flew in a formation pattern that undulated much like silver moonfish in the ocean. One side was white, then the formation would undulate in a new direction and the other side of the object(s) would appear silver. One broke formation briefly. There were around 10 in total. Sky was clear blue, no clouds. As soon as we pulled out our phone to take a picture it simply disappeared, it did not descend nor ascend; it vanished.
