Le 10 octobre 1991 vers 21h30 de nombreux témoins répartis dans tous les départements du Sud-Ouest ont observé pendant quelques secondes une très vive lueur blanche se déplaçant très rapidement avec une trainée importante dans une direction généralement indiquée Nord-Sud. Certains témoins ont également entendu une forte explosion accompagnant le phénomène. Un article dans le journal local a permis à de nombreux témoins de se manifester. Les caractéristiques de l'observation privilégient l'hypothèse d'une rentrée atmosphérique de grande ampleur, probablement naturelle compte tenu de la direction observée.
