Le 28 janvier 1989 vers 20 heures 30, le groupement de gendarmerie de Guéret demande à toutes ses brigades de regarder dans le ciel vers l'Est un phénomène particulier. Des points très scintillants de couleurs variées sont observés. Ces observations sont faites plusieurs soirs de suite. Ce phénomène est dû à un scintillement d'étoiles provoqué par des conditions météorologiques favorables. [GEIPAN classification A — Astronomique]
