Le 09 août 1980 à 22h18 deux témoins aperçoivent depuis leur domicile une lueur dans le ciel. Celle-ci se déplaçe du nord au sud puis change de direction pour aller au Sud-Ouest en faisant une courbe. Elle a une forme circulaire avec un noyau très lumineux. Elle a également changé de couleur passant du blanc-jaunâtre au rouge-voilet. Aucun bruit n'a été entendu durant l'observation. Cette lueur s'est brusquement éteinte. Aucun autre témoignage n'a été recueilli sur ce qui s'apparente à une probable rentrée atmosphérique. [GEIPAN classification B — Phénomène identifié non indiqué]
