Entre le 10 janvier et le 16 janvier 1980 de nombreuses personnes dont les gendarmes vont apercevoir dans le ciel un objet lumineux. Celui -ci de forme circulaire est brillant et scintille. Il se déplace lentement d'Est en Ouest. Des photographies de l'objet seront prises. Petit à petit l'objet perd de sa luminosité pour devenir orangé et disparaître. Toutes ces personnes ont fait une observation astronomique de Vénus particulièrement visible en cette période de l'année ( magnitude -3,83 le 12/01/1980 à 19h 04 et disparition dans l'océan à 20h 30).
