Le 20 octobre 1979 plusieurs personnes dans les Vosges et le Haut Rhin vont apercevoir dans le ciel un phénomène lumineux clignotant irrégulièrement. L'objet, de forme sphérique, semble se déplacer en ziz-zag et aucun bruit n'est remarqué. Un an auparavant un phénomène similaire avait été constaté par des témoins.
