Le 26 décembre 1978 vers 22h45 un témoin observe les déplacements d'un objet lumineux dans le ciel. Passant dans un nuage, cet objet émet un phénomène lumineux et monte à vitesse rapide dans le ciel en prenant une couleur rouge. Le témoin ne verra ensuite qu'un point rouge disparaître.
