Le 22 juillet 1978 vers 23h45 plusieurs personnes observent dans le ciel un phénomène lumieux jaune orangé très vif émétant des rayons. Durant 15 minutes un témoin observera le phénomène aux jumelles avant que cellui-ci ne disparaisse. En raison de la direction d'observation et de la position de Vénus particulièrement visible en cette période de l'année, on peut dire que les témoins ont fait une observation astronomique.
