Le 2 avril 1978 vers 23h 35 un automobiliste et sa passagère aperçoivent une lueur très forte de couleur jaune-orange . Elle apparaît presque au niveau du sol de la colline. Après avoir arrêté son véhicule, le témoin observera une demi-sphère de grandes dimensions l'autre partie étant cachée par des arbres. Elle se déplace du Nord au Sud sans qu'aucun bruit ne soit entendu. L'observation durera en tout 50 minutes environ avant que l'objet ne disparaisse sous l'affaiblissement de sa luminosité.
