Le 24 janvier 1977 à 6h 17 trois personnes voient une colonne de vapeur ou de fumée venant du ciel. Une tache d'écume est visible à la surface indiquant la chute d'un objet dans l'océan à environ 4km du rivage et à environ 8 à 10 km du lieu de l'observation. Aucun autre témoignage ne sera recueilli sur ce phénomène et le point de chute s'averant difficile à déterminer, aucune recherche n'a été entreprise.
