Terrebonne, OR

I was at home, out with my dog and saw a bright yellow flash in the west, it moved north and then was just a trail of white light. Our elevation is just under 3000 feet. It looked very close. Reminded me of the flash from commercial fireworks display. It seemed that close. I watched for a crash sight but it did not go to the ground. It was a fairly short path from appearance to end. I would have thought a falling star but it was so close. The downward angle was about 30 degrees. It was not much higher than my view of three finger jack or black butte. Both of which are 30 or 40 miles away. I am not claiming it was a flying saucer. But I have never seen a falling star that looked that close.
