Le 9 octobre 1954 vers 20h trois agriculteurs observent durant 45 min dans le ciel un disque orange en forme d'assiette retournée. Il disparait en direction du NO. L'observation est rapportée succinctement dans un message de renseignement de la gendarmerie nationale. La durée de l'observation et la forme décrite font penser à certaines méprises avec la Lune. Celle-ci est bien présente dans le ciel mais au SE et à presque 30° d'élévation ce qui ne correspond absolument pas au contexte de l'observation. Le GEIPAN classe ce cas C par manque d'information.
